Assistant Professor of Biology (2 positions)

¹ú²ú̽»¨ invites applications for two full-time positions in Biology to begin August 2025. These positions will be tenure track for applicants with a Ph.D. and non-tenure track for applicants with a Master’s.

Requirements for the position include:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a subfield of Biology
  • Ability to teach human anatomy and physiology
  • Ability to teach additional courses selected from the following: lower division courses in pathophysiology, and microbiology, and upper division courses in general physiology, cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, immunology, and neuroscience
  • Evidence of effective teaching with a commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching

In our considerations, preference will be given to candidates:

  • Who can build interdisciplinary connections across departments
  • Willing to mentor undergraduate students during an 8-week summer research program for an additional stipend
  • Able to support and develop student internships in Biology
  • With experience advising undergraduates
  • With experience teaching microbiology, physiology, immunology or cell biology

The Biology Department consists of 7 full-time faculty members and about 70 undergraduates majoring in one of five biology degrees.
