Visiting Assistant Professor of Nursing Seguin Location

¹ú²ú̽»¨ is immediately accepting applications for a visiting professor, full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in the Department of Nursing to begin the Spring 2025 semester. The role of a visiting assistant professor focuses on teaching excellence in the classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings. This position is for a 9-month appointment with 12 credit load hours per term and will teach at ¹ú²ú̽»¨â€™s BSN program in Seguin, Texas.

Requirements for the position include:

  • An advanced degree in nursing (Master or Doctorate). A Doctorate degree is preferred.
  • Licensed as a registered nurse in Texas or be eligible for licensure in Texas.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and advising of students consistent with the department’s mission, values, and program outcomes.
  • Evidence of at least two years of clinical expertise within the last four years in at least one of the following: mental health/psychiatric nursing, medical-surgical nursing, obstetrical, pediatric, leadership, and/or public/community health nursing.
  • Ability to work collegially with other faculty members and staff in the department and across campus.
  • Commitment to nursing program service and continued professional development.
  • Commitment to attracting, retaining, and educating students from traditionally underrepresented groups.
  • Understand and support of the mission of ¹ú²ú̽»¨.

Preference may be given to candidates who also offer one or more of the following:

  • Evidence of contributions to diversity and/or experience working with underrepresented or disadvantaged student populations.
  • Evidence of experience in program development and evaluation, curriculum design, and teaching in an undergraduate baccalaureate nursing program.
  • Evidence of successful teaching experience in various formats, including the use of instructional technology, concept-based curriculum, flipped classroom, interdisciplinary and team teaching.
  • Evidence of experience working within the rules, laws, and regulations relating to BSN programs in Texas.
  • Evidence of experience in building and promoting community relationships, including developing student practicums in nursing.
  • Evidence of successful implementation of evidence-based practice or research utilization projects.

The Department of Nursing has approval from the Texas Board of Nursing to offer the accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing and direct entry Master of Science in Nursing degrees. The baccalaureate degree program in nursing and master's degree program in nursing at ¹ú²ú̽»¨ is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (). We have an excellent pre-licensure NCLEX-RN pass rate and employment rate for our BSN and MSN graduates. The curriculum is designed to prepare graduates for a nursing career and requires all students to be involved in faculty-mentored research or evidence-based practice projects.
