Clinical Professor of Nursing-New Braunfels Campus

¹ú²ú̽»¨ seeks applicants for a Clinical Professor position to provide high-quality education to students in the nursing program, foster an engaging learning environment, and contribute to the mission and goals of the institution. This full-time, non-tenure track position is for a 12-month appointment with 12 credit load hours per semester anticipated to begin in Spring 2025 at the New Braunfels location. The chosen faculty will teach in the Accelerated BSN (ABSN) and Direct-Entry MSN (DEMSN) programs.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide classroom instruction with a commitment to excellence, integrating evidence-based practice and research
- Evaluate students in the accelerated program, providing feedback and coaching consistent with the program outcomes.
- Serve as a liaison between the nursing program and clinical site partners to ensure effective student placements.
- Collaborate with adjunct clinical faculty to ensure a quality learning experience.
- Participate in the development, review, and improvement of nursing curricula in alignment with accreditation standards and institutional goals.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with nursing trends and best practices. Participating in scholarly activities to advance nursing education and clinical practice.
- Contribute to shared governance of the nursing program and institution through committee work and service.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing required, Doctorate in nursing or related field preferred. (ABD may be considered).
- Current, unencumbered RN license in Texas or eligibility to obtain one.
- Evidence of at least two years of clinical experience within the last four years.
Preference may be given to candidates who also offer one or more of the following:
- Demonstrate a commitment to health equity in education, contributing to diversity and/or experience working with underrepresented or disadvantaged student populations.
- Experience in program development and evaluation, curriculum design, and teaching in an undergraduate baccalaureate nursing program.
- Successful teaching experience in various formats, including instructional technology, concept-based curriculum, flipped classroom, interprofessional, and team teaching.
- Experience building and promoting community relationships, including developing student practicums in nursing.
- Successful implementation of evidence-based practice or research utilization projects.
The Department of Nursing has approval from the Texas Board of Nursing to offer the accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing and direct entry Master of Science in Nursing degrees. The baccalaureate degree program in nursing and master's degree program in nursing at ¹ú²ú̽»¨ is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (). We have an excellent pre-licensure NCLEX-RN pass rate and employment rate for our BSN and MSN graduates. The curriculum is designed to prepare graduates for a nursing career and requires all students to be involved in faculty-mentored research or evidence-based practice projects.
