Accessibility Services
Supporting Development & Success
The Office of Accessibility Services at ¹ú²ú̽»¨ supports students by providing services in an atmosphere of respect and confidentiality. We are committed to providing reasonable and appropriate accommodations to eligible students. We value the diversity of our student body and the worth and dignity of each individual and collaborate with faculty and staff to increase the level of awareness of disabilities in the university community.
In accordance with the terms of the Americans with Disabilities, ¹ú²ú̽»¨ provides reasonable and appropriate accommodations for students with physical/medical, learning disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses. A request for reasonable academic and housing should be made by contacting the Office of Accessibility Services. It is the right and responsibility of the student to request accommodations and to provide professional documentation of the disability. This is a separate application process and usually begins after your student has been enrolled. Documentation requirements vary by disability and verification of disability forms are available online via the student portal under the Student Life tab. A student who requests disability accommodations will be scheduled for a meeting with the ADA Coordinator to discuss disability documentation and eligibility for accommodations.
Faculty, staff, or student questions or concerns regarding accommodations should be directed to the Office of Accessibility Services.
Additional assistance may be available from the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS), 312 S. Saunders Street, Seguin, Texas 78155.

How To Apply For Accommodations
Once eligibility for accommodation is determined, an official letter of accommodations with the ADA Coordinator’s signature, detailing the appropriate accommodations will be provided to the student. The student should meet with each instructor to discuss the reasonable and appropriate accommodations with each faculty member for each class.
Accommodations are not retroactive and cannot be provided until a letter of accommodations has been activated by the student and signed by the instructor. The letter must be returned to the Meadows Center. The student is responsible for initiating this procedure (letters of accommodations) each semester or including the summer session.

Housing Accommodations
Students living on-campus that have a disability-related need to modify their living environment must complete a ¹ú²ú̽»¨ Housing Accommodation Request form and include supporting documentation. The Office Of Disability Services will review and evaluate the request and work with Campus Living to determine the appropriate and reasonable accommodations.

Physical Access
All buildings on campus have access ramps and some have elevators. A limited number of parking spaces for students with physical disabilities are reserved throughout the campus. Students with handicap tags must register their handicap tag number on the portal along with their vehicle information. The handicap tag must be clearly displayed with no visual obstruction to the registered number.
